How to Ground Your Energy with Crystals and Nature

In this article you will discover the different ways you can ground yourself and your energy using crystals, stones and mother nature. With our everyday interactions and daily experiences, obligations and responsibilities, overuse of technology, anxious thoughts and stresses, our energy can easily become unbalanced and ungrounded.

Thankfully grounding your energy does not take much time, does not cost any money, and is refreshing for your mind, body and soul.

Signs of being ungrounded can include:

  • Racing thoughts, anxiety and worry, irrational fears and stress, waking up tired, difficulty concentrating, lack of focus, poor memory, and feeling drained or dizzy.

One of the best ways to ground your energy is to get out in nature and connect with the Earth. Earthing is another term when using Gaia or mother nature to ground your body, energy and spirit. Earthing will not cost you a thing and it is always available.

To connect with the Earth, go outside and find a relaxing place.

This could be a spot along your favorite hiking trail, a quiet place at the park, somewhere up in the mountains, sitting in your yard or porch, a spot in the woods, or sitting on sand by the ocean or a natural body of water.

Wherever you feel pulled to go will be the best place for you and this may change from time to time. There may be days where you feel a pull to ground at the beach, rather than your usual nature spot. It is important to listen to your own intuition when choosing your location to ground.

Once you make your way to your desired grounding area, get into a comfortable position. You can sit, stand or walk, always do whatever is most comfortable for you. There is no wrong way to ground energy, you are always your own best guide and will discover what works best for you.

Take a look around you and take it all in, begin to connect and tune into your surroundings with your senses.

Feel the dirt with your fingers, inhale the fresh air, listen to the birds sing, touch the bark on the trees, smell the woody forest and sweet flowers, play with the sand, rocks and grass, take some quiet time to connect with the energy of Gaia and experience the different textures, sounds, sensations, vibrations smells, and feelings of the Earth.

For a stronger grounding experience, stand barefoot in the Earth to strengthen your connection.

Feel the grass, the dirt, the rocks or sand with your feet and allow yourself to connect with the natural flow of energy and electrons from the Earth. You may feel the subtle energy flow through you in the form of tingles, vibrations, and chills.

Activities like gardening and swimming are other methods to ground your energy while also doing something that is fun and enjoyable for you. Surrounding yourself in nature is the most powerful way that you can ground and connect with Earth’s energy and electrons.

You can also ground with opposing elements:

  • For Fire, Air, and Earth signs, a powerful way to ground is to use the Element of Water, go spend some time near the ocean or a natural body of water.

  • For Water, Earth, and Air signs, a powerful way to ground is to use the Element of Fire, this can be done by having a campfire or candle work.

  • For Air, Water, and Fire signs a powerful way to ground is to use the the elements of Earth, this can be done by earthing, burning herbs and using gemstones.

  • For Fire, Water and Earth signs a powerful way to ground is to use the Element of Air. This can be done by breathing fresh outside air, connecting with the wind, and practicing breath work.

There are many different crystals, stones and minerals that hold grounding properties.

Due to obligations and responsibilities, perhaps you do not have the time or ability to spend time outside to ground. In these instances where you need grounding but can not access the outdoors, it is best to use crystals and stones because you can take them anywhere! There are many different crystals, stones and minerals that hold grounding properties.

I have found the most effective grounding stones to be:

  • Smokey Quartz, Hematite, Black Tourmaline, Black Onyx, Shungite, Obsidian, Jet, and Tigers eye.

When you are feeling ungrounded, take your crystal(s) and carry them with you throughout your day. While holding your crystals, set your intention to ground your energy. Take a few moments to connect with yourself and tune into the frequency of your crystals. You can also place these crystals near your bedside or under your pillow to ground further while you sleep.

If you do not have access to crystals or have time to step away outside, you can always use visualizations and complete grounding meditations. If you are new to meditation and grounding, there are numerous amounts of free guided meditations and binaural beats on the internet and on Youtube for grounding energy and meditation for beginners.

After a grounding session, you should feel refreshed and re-energized within the next few hours.

Your mind, body, and soul will feel rejuvenated, balanced, and in a state of natural flow. Grounding is known to help promote better sleep, reduce stress levels and anxiety, neutralize toxins/free radicals in your system, and reduce inflammation and pain. Grounding is not only a benefit for your physical body, but it also soothes your mind and soul and is available to you at any time.
